Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 bags green tea
  • 1 two inch piece ginger root cut into thirds
  • 1/2 cup pomegranate juice, unsweetened
  • 1/2 cup selzer or sparkling mineral water

Garnish

  • lemon wedges
  • fresh mint

Directions

In a small saucepan, combine the water and ginger and bring to a simmer. Turn off the heat and add the teabags. Steep for 5 minutes.

Transfer to a bowl or pitcher and chill in the fridge for at least ten minutes or up to overnight.  (If chilling overnight take out the teabags or the mixture will get bitter.)

Fill 2 large glasses with ice and pour the tea over. Add the juice and top with the seltzer water.

Garnish with the mint and lemon wedges.

TIPS AND NOTES:

You can substitute blueberry or cranberry juice for the pomegranate juice or leave it out.

For more fizz, steep the tea in just one cup of water and add an extra cup of selzer or mineral water.
